Chris Johnson and Jason Kubel – The Diamondbacks have begun to put things together on offense, and that should continue against Mat Latos tonight. The Arizona duo holds a .563 batting average against the Reds righty, with two-thirds of their hits going for extra bases. The DBacks are hitting .346 as a team against Latos, giving me confidence in their ability to score runs tonight. Justin Upton has quietly put together a solid month, and with him hitting his stride, this is a dangerous and power packed lineup that should be represented on your daily fantasy baseball team.

Carlos Beltran and Matt Holliday – Yep, another recommendation for Cardinals in daily fantasy baseball games. The powerful core of the hot St. Louis lineup crushed Wandy Rodriguez when he was in Houston, and a chance in uniform isn’t going to change that. The 3-4 hitters are batting .327 against the newest Bucco, launching one home run every third hit. Holliday has not only hit Rodriguez hard, he has hit every pitcher in the last week (5 multi hit games in the last week). The Pirates are trending down while the Cardinals are peaking, a good sign for fantasy baseball owners who have multiple Cardinals on their roster.

Scott Hairston – Cole Hamels is an élite pitcher, but he has been unable to contain Hairston of all people. The Mets left fielder is batting .393 against Hamels, with 9 of his 11 hits going for extra bases and 5 clearing the outfield wall. His power surge has led to a remarkable 1.071 slugging percentage, a number few players can stake a claim to against Hamels. Hairston is batting 87 points higher on the road than at home this season, just one more reason to trust him in all fantasy formats tonight. Read more…
