Deja vu: Terrell Thomas re-injures his knee
Terrell Thomas was one of my New York Giants selection for TTR’s Game Changers in 2012, but it looks like his entire season if not career could be in jeopardy now. This is disappointing news for the Giants and the promising young player.
The Giants don’t sound particularly optimistic, after cornerback Terrell Thomas
re-injured his right knee and was sent off for tests this morning.
Thomas missed last year with a torn ACL, and after getting tangled up with wide receiver Dominik Hixon Sunday, Thomas came in today with swelling and was sent to the Hospital for Special Surgery (which is a really ominous-sounding name for a hospital, by the way).
When coach Tom Coughlin was asked if there was any news on Thomas, he replied, “Unfortunately, there is, . . .,” according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.
The Giants are expected to announce more this afternoon, but it doesn’t take much reading between the lines to anticipate it’s not good.
Last year’s ACL tear was his second, with the first in his college days at Southern Cal. Despite that history, the Giants signed him to a four-year, $28 million deal in March, though the likelihood of him seeing that amount is slim. Read more here…
