Fantasy Football 2012: Favorite late round sleeper picks

Often times, fantasy football leagues are won at the end of the draft, rather than the beginning. Anyone can pick the most popular guys, but it’s the guys that not everyone are talking about that can help you win your league. Here are a few guys that I’m targeting in the late round of my fantasy football draft. All theses guys are currently going in the 13th round or later in fantasy football drafts, but could pay big dividends for owners.

Carson Palmer (ADP: 127.1)

After sitting on his couch all of last offseason contemplating retirement, it naturally took Palmer a while to get back into a grove and he finally started to find that groove in the final half of last season. He has two burners out wide in Denarius Moore and Darrius Heyward-Bey and Darren McFadden in the backfield. The defense is putrid so you figure they will be in a lot of shootouts. 4,000 yards and 28TDs isn’t of reach for Palmer. Heis currently going as a low-end QB2, but has the upside to reach low-end QB1 status.

Jacquizz Rodgers (ADP: 138.7)

Rodgers is easy to get excited about. He’s an electrifying player that has that look that any time he touches the ball he might take it to the endzone. He also has a great situation in Atlanta. Michael Turner is on the decline and if you’ve read any reports or watched the Falcons in the preseason, you know they are switching to a more vertical, passing based offense, that the lighting fast Rodgers is perfectly suited for.
